5 CommentsWe ran a poll a while back on my site which of the bigger publishers (DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, Image, etc.) people enjoyed the most. I found a surprising amount of people enjoyed DC over Marvel which is the opposite of what I originally thought. So, 9rules, I ask you now, which is your comic book publisher of choice? While we're on the subject, if you want to name a couple of the titles that really stand out on your favorite publisher, feel free.
I'll get the ball rolling. I've been a huge Marvel fan since I was a kid. I enjoy DC as well but Marvel would definitely be my favorite. A couple titles that really make Marvel my publisher of choice include Spider-Man, the new Thunderbolts and Thor.

There are definitely titles at both Marvel and DC which are great, but they also each have their servings of crap. The fact that these companies still have editors just boggles my mind, but I'd definitely say Marvel goes a lot more for the approach of "publish more" rather than publishing quality. They flood the market with x-men books just trying for a number of sales between them all rather then trying to get one book that sells that many.
That said, I love spiderman, the x-men, and tons of marvel properties as well as tons of DC properties, it all depends on the writer/artist combo and if it produces something worth-while.
My answer to the question: even on all counts.

I hear what you're saying. The near-endless stream of spin-off books from the major cross-overs (House of M, Civil War, World War Hulk) is almost sickening. None of which were very good.
