How come it don't wear off with time? How come it is just as super as he is? One theory I heard was that the suit was made out of the blanket he had when he came to earth, but that just sounds too made up. What are your thoughts?

by the way, what I meant by wear off is why it doesn't get old, or scratched, stuff like that with time.

I asked this very same question the night I came home after catching a showing. The only explaination is that Superman has Superclothes. That and a Supercurl. You notice how his little hair twist remain flawless despite falling from the sky?

Same could be said about Steven Seagal's hair.

I was going to say Chuck Norris' beard, but I was afraid a riot would ensue. Which reminds me, I have a thread to start in the Humor Community...

I can clear this up, being Superman and all. The answer is that every day I take a quick spin up in the air through a rain cloud, and soap up and everything while I'm at it. As to the enduring nature of my fine spandex suit, let's just say it has something to do with the way things are made on the home planet. Nothing goes to waste.

Superman's Super-Suit is indestructible. The reason? I've heard two explanations:
1. His clothes are woven of an indestructible fiber
(see various Superman comics from the 40s - 60s for more information)
2. Anything within a certain distance of Superman's body takes on his indestructible aura (thus the skin tight clothes). This one makes more "sense" and I believe is the more recent explanation.

Yea, I guess we'll have to take the 2nd explanation as the most logical one.
