I've wanted one since they came out but they've been absolutely impossible to find here in Oklahoma, and I wasn't about to pay $500-$1200 on Ebay. Well, we stopped at Blockbuster last night and, on a whim, I asked if they had gotten any consoles in. I don't even know what made me ask, I wasn't actively looking for one. Anyway. They had gotten 3 in and had one left.

So, awesomely, I finally got my hands on a Wii. I am absolutely addicted. This thing is amazing! I can see this little baby upstaging my 360 in the near future.

Any other Wii lovers out there? What are the best games for the Wii?

Oh yeah, if you're a total dork (like me) and want to see pictures of the opening process, here they be.

The Collective has a Wii and damn, it's addictive! I've been AWOL from home all week because I keep going back to their house after work to play. The only drawback is playing for more than ten minutes at a time makes my RSI-riddled wrists hurt like hell. Still, it's fun to watch :)

As for games, the consensus on another note seems to be Zelda, Tennis, and WarioWare Smooth Moves (though I played this last night and wasn't too impressed myself).

I love WarioWare, but I find it's best with a bunch of other people watching and joining in. The other good game to consider is Trauma Center: Second Opinion, which is a remake/upgrade to the popular DS title. And yes, I too am Gone with the Wii. :)

Other favorites in my house are Wii Sports Bowling and Boxing. Bowling can be a total confidence builder, but don't expect to do that well when you go to the lanes. Boxing is just ridiculously fun with a group of people.

Also, you can't go wrong with all of the virtual console games. I'm reliving my childhood with Donkey Kong, Super Mario Brothers, Gradius, etc. It sure beats the hell out of trying to play them in an emulator with a keyboard.

I've only played Excite Truck in the store, which I thought was fun. One day, I too, will join y'all and get my Wii on. :]

(Until I have to go to my friend's place to play, he is addicted to Zelda.)

I haven't found one yet :( Been looking since day one, but unfortunately with a job, I can't really go stand in line at opening every day.

I waited in line at the Times Square TRU on launch day. Never done anything like that before, but Wii somehow talked me into it. :-)

I was psyched about Wii Sports and Zelda but the title that totally sold me was Rayman Raving Rabbids. Personally, I think the Rabbids are the first stand-out characters to appear in the "next generation." I picked up Excite Truck later and it rocks, too.

Check my blog for more on my early Wii experience.

I Want a Wii quite a lot at the moment, but they are so hard to get hold of in the UK (without spending over £300) that I am going to just have to be patient. I will absolutely be getting one as soon as I can though. I intend to get Excite Truck and Zelda as my first two game purchases.

Thankfully we have one at work to tide me over, but it's just not the same.

I got my Wii a couple of weekends ago. I had found out that Target had gotten a shipment of a dozen consoles and they would be selling them first thing Sunday morning. So I dredged out into the cold around 6:30am that morning and waited with a few other people. We were in our cars until one person went to the door so then I had to get up there. Third in line!

The only other game I have is Happy Feet (just because I'm a penguin nut). It's not too good of a game but it's simplicity is great for my kids. I'm borrowing Rayman Raving Rabbids from a friend and I'm enjoying it. I think the next one I'll get is WarioWare: Smooth Moves. It looks like lots of short attention span fun. In the meantime, I'm addicted to bowling and tennis. I finally scored a perfect game last night in a most awkward way.

Actually, I've been digging the Virtual Console games. I know that's kinda "anti-Wii", but I've played and beat LOZ:TP and WarioWare has lost its smooth moves with me. But Bomberman '93? Oh man...that gets continual replay from the kid.

I am fortunate to own a Wii - seems plenty do these days ! What I can say is games like Wii Sports, Excite Truck, etc are all fun and use the controller cool - games to play with other people !

The only downside is we don't get the new Tony Hawks, or games like Gears of War - which probably wouldn't work with the controller anyway. Maybe i'll get rich one day and afford an Xbox 360 too...

I am all about my Wii... and I better be, since I stood in line for 12 and a half hours to get the thing. I made a log of my in-line adventure on my blog. I posted it from my phone throughout the night, so it was actually "live". You can take a look at it here, just start with the post at the bottom of the page.

I still don't have one. The only thing that keeps me from paying one of those goddamn scalpers on ebay is principal. I honestly don't care about the extra cost if it means I could get one, but the fact those guys are such assholes means I won't.

Now if I could order a premium pack somewhere bundled with games/extras I would.. but even the few places doing that have no ETA for delivery.

Ozone: just keeping checking Blockbuster, Sears and other offbeat places. They're actually becoming more common now, especially at lesser thought of outlets.

It's so worth it! I had a bowling/tennis/boxing tournament with my brother, his wife and Brian last weekend. So much fun!
