I like american idol, but it's like two shows. One which is just making fun of a lot of deluded and/or handicapped people, and then the other (when they get to hollywood week,) a genuine talent competition.

I like the second show :)

That said, this year is VERY dissapointing so far. I think the judges have gotten better. OK, no I think Randy has gotten better, Paula is still an idiot on various drugs, Simon is still exactly as good as he's been since the begining. The problem is the contestants this year are having a lot of trouble, and America has made some very odd decisions in who they vote for.

There's still some great talent, Phil, Jordin, and Melinda are fantastic. I like Blake and Chris personality/uniqueness wise, but they can't compete with the others I mentioned talent wise.

I love the show but seeing as I don't have cable... I was hoping I could get FOX on my rabbit ears.

I live out in the country, in a valley so to my luck the ONLY broadcast channel I CAN'T get is.... FOX!

So I watch CBS and ABC now until I find a way to get FOX.

I watch the first few weeks religiously because it's high comedy.

My wife watches it while I do stuff on the computer, so I absorb it by proxy. I like the big dude with the curly fro. He makes me laugh.

I run an American Idol voting ring out of my basement...leftovers from the Soul Patrol among others... (Birmingham, AL resident here)

I would agree that this year's crop of candidates is weaker than in year's past, but I think the ladies group is fantastic.

Still none can touch the McPhee for teh hotness.

I watch it because I have a secret crush on Ryan Seacrest. I know. . . I really am ashamed.

All the singers suck this year, except for the sistas. They brought the house down on last nite's episode.

I thought the show was pretty good actually, all in all, one of the better shows of the season so far.

It's odd for all three judges to be in complete agreement. They're all baffled as to why the heck Sanjaya made it this far. So am I. He's really bad. I think on the right song I could do better, and I suck!

Speaking of bad performers, who is this Haley Scarnato girl? I swear I've seen every episode, but I can't remember a thing about her, yet there she is on the website.

Phil's vocal rocked. As did Gina's, though her stage performance was really boring. Melinda was awesome as always, but she's so damn perfect at this, it's getting boring :) It's nice to see the other contestants grow some.

Nice call Ozone. I'm not sure if you've heard, but there's a campus called "Vote For The Worst". I won't bother linking it, just Google it if you care to find out more. That's why Sanjaya is still where he is.

I agree with you about Haley except for the fact that she's this year's Katherine McPhee (the hot girl who can sing a little) so she'll continue on I think...for now...

Went to their site. They're off their rockers. Sure there's more to the auditions than we see, but it's plainly NOT rigged to let through bad people or push down the good. I rarely disagree with ALL of the judges.

I bet this was started by some sore losers that really don't have much talent. It's really ruining the show for me if they are indeed the power behind sanjaya. Though I have to wonder how many votes they really cast.

Who's following the 2008 season? I know at least a few of you are.

David Hernandez was aaaaamazing tonight. I thought he gave the best performance of the show this season.

I thought David Archuleta was good, but not as good as when he sang Imagine prior to his vocal paralysis (link).

I honestly think that David Archuleta has some seriously amazing talent! I vote for him and his talent, and I know he will succeed. 17 year old boy headings towards imminent stardom.

It's also his personality, I think. He's just so damn ... down to earth/humble. And you can't help but root for him when he goes awwhh at Simon's comments.

David Hernandez

Yeah the David's are amazing this year...

I'd have to say Hernandez, Archuleta and then Cook.

But personally I think they all suck compared to that Archuleta dude.
