Maybe a little creepy.
I can't help but think it's time for them to wrap things up for us. This is one show that I would hate to see go on well past it's prime.

I think they set a finish date for it, end of next season I believe? That sounds like a reasonable timeline.
It's not that it doesn't progress anymore, it's never progressed quickly, but we've just become tired of it, I think.

I'm not tired of it at all.
I still don't understand people that complain we never learn anything. If you take what we knew in the first season and compare it to what we know now you'd see we've been shown a hell of a lot.

Well I love LOST, but to a degree I agree with the first two comments. I'm in the UK and I have to download the shows to watch them or I have to wait 6 months. But having to wait over the american tv seasons is just terrible and annoying. Like there are just two or three week holidays off prime shows for no apparent reason. here in the UK they just shoot them and show them weekly untill the end of the season, then they start a new one 4-5 months later like normal. So, over christmas I waited all that time for lost untill february, and was pretty disappointed with the result. This is LOST in its prime. having to wait and wait and wait. But yet at the same time it;s very good. Even better if you download all of the season all at once without watching them and then watch them all in a row. Then it's not so annoying.

You're watching on Sky One, right? We're on the same episode they are right now. Except it's aired on Sunday. We caught up over Christmas.
Still, I download them every Thursday morning. Hehe.

I know what you mean steffan I do the same! I love the series but I just think they are opening too many stories without closing any off and it is becoming a little bit frustrating to watch.

Really what do you expect then? It's a tv show, not a movie or mini-series. TV shows are meant to continue, at least for a while, and if they start closing off and wrapping up all of the stories, mysteries, and secrets then the show will just die. The way I see it, when they get to that point is when the show starts going downhill:
"Oh, gee, the Others are all gone/dead...time to rest." "OH NOES, DINOSAURS ON TEH ISLANDS!!! RUN!" Followed by new encounter upon new encounter, to the level of campiness that most shows end up reaching. Lost is avoiding that, to the effect of frustrating some viewers as they feel like they need answers to all of the questions, and because they're not getting them they blame the writers, etc. and stop watching.

Alday is correct.
The show is moving at the same or perhaps even faster pace than it has since the very begining. People's attention spans are just getting shorter.
@Bartoneus,
You know, a lot of places other than the US don't do the whole "let's see how long we can make a show run," formula. Unless it's a game/news type show that is. Any fiction series has a plot start to finish before it airs. They even do this in the US sometimes, just rarely on network tv I suppose.

Ozone: Who's to say Lost didn't begin with a plot start to finish? Most people just assume it didn't because they feel like they have no idea what's going on, but I feel that a lot of what's gone on has required a decent idea of the plot from beginning to end.
Just this last episode we had ties to the middle of Season 2, and the seventh episode had thematic ties with Jack and Kate back to the very first episode. Certainly these don't prove anything, but they definitely help the argument.

Oh, I wasn't saying lost was one of those. I'm unsure, but wouldn't make the claim either way. I was just pointing out that it didn't have to be the standard american serial way of dragging things out as long as possible to milk it for money ;-)

I know some of you saw it, but I'm sure a few of you didn't, so go take a look at my LOST predictions. I know I've posted it before, but what can I say... 9rules is kind of boring today...
