I'm going on holiday this week and need a good book, preferably a paperback (they're cheaper). I've recently read The Life of Pi and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime. What have you been reading?
I don't read Harry Potter, sorry... :)

If you like Edgar Allan Poe, you might try The Poe Shadow, in paperback, by Matthew Pearl. He also wrote The Dante Club which was very good.
I know that BAM, on Jackson sells it.

F. Scott Fitzgerald!
Get a book of his short stories-- they're great!

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. It really got me.

The last books I read were:
The Kite Runner
Breakfast for Champions
Me talk pretty one day
On the Road
All brilliant books that I thoroughly recommend (as you can see I'm going through an 'American lit' stage :) ...

DavidBB: My sister's Keeper was a good book, and thought-provoking on several levels.

LorriM,
I agree. It really had me thinking about many things in my life. I was absolutely blown away by the ending.

DavidBB: Picoult's work is usually thought-provoking, to begin with, but the issue in that particular book isn't one that is normally addressed in a novel.
Yes, the ending blew me away, also.

Read the Bourne Series, and then watch the movies. That's what I'm doing. :)
