A new web-based Flash interface for Joost is now Online. Indie software developer Paul Yanez of San Diego, Calif., has a "proof-of-concept" model that's described in reports as a "faithful representation of the Joost" player, only maybe a bit better.
This can only help Joost, which remains in beta, even after having huge 1 million registered users. The Joost player is not the simplest application to navigate. The early versions took over an entire computer display when launched and didn't present easily located escape options. Then, as with any proprietary media player, there are those infernal updates--which in this case drove Yanez to start coding. If his Flash interface works as described, users won't be bothered with updates.
For me the flash version of Joost is much effective and fast to watch programs

This is way better than mucking around with the endlessly size-increasing downloads for the program everytime they add yet another channel with nothing I want to watch on it. I had one of the first beta invites to the app, (http://wilcosworld.co.uk/2007/01/08/review-the-venice-project/), and I have not seen anything that makes me want to use it anytime soon- the BBC iPlayer is equally poor- sadly I think the Sky+ box is the best thing going. (Disclaimer, I work for Sky)

Good God it might be efective but it's ugly as sin.

I think that I will use Joost more if it is browser-based. I uninstalled the app on my computer because I didn't like that I couldn't multi-task while using Joost. :/
