In Leipzig today, SCEE announced PlayTV, a TV tuner and personal video recorder (PVR) for the PS3. The design for the menu seems similar to what mac users see when using Front Row.

It's similar but I've seen NUMEROUS devices with a similar UI.

That UI is VERY SONY-esque but I wouldn't call it an exclusive Apple thing.

I agree with you but at the same time find it very similar to the way front row works.
