I walked into Borders today, and after a quick perusal of the technology section I looked around and had a mini panic attack. I just had no idea what the hell I wanted to read.

So, what are you reading now? I seek inspiration.

I just finished reading Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer, a non-fiction book based on Chris McCandless's trek to Alaska from Georgia.

I have also read within the past couple of weeks: The Book of Daniel...by E.L. Doctorow, Sala's Gift...by Ann Kirschner, A Woman in Jerusalem...by A.B. Yehoshua and Requiem for a Lost Empire and Music of a Life...both by Andrei Makine.

I have just started Doctor Zhivago, by Boris Pasternak.

Egonomics: What Makes Our Ego Our Greatest Asset (Or Most Expensive Liability) David Marcum and Steven Smith
Excellent!

Um.. a few things:

* Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
* Medieval Europe: A Short History
* Touching Peace
* Soldat: Reflections of a German Soldier, 1936-1949
* Absalom, Absalom!
* A variety of texts for school

I suddenly feel a bit like Hermione...

Finished in the last couple weeks:
The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism,/em>

The Greatest Story Ever Sold: The Decline and Fall of Truth from 9/11 to Katrina

Secrets Of Women: Gender, Generation, and the Origins of Human Dissection

I Love Female Orgasm: An Extraordinary Orgasm Guide

Infidel

I picked up a couple books at a yard sale this weekend, may read them they cost a quarter so it can't hurt. Gilgamesh and The Barbary Plague

Currently, Treasure Box by Orson Scott Card
Just finished Breakfast of Champions and am planning on reading The Metamorphosis

Children of Hurin by Tolkien. Nice book to look deeper in Tolkien's world, containing several parts that were collected and combined into a story by Christopher Tolkien.

The Awakening by Kate Chopin

Excerpts From a Family Medical Dictionary by Rebecca Brown

My English class' reading materials all have to do with death. Excerpts is about the death of the author's mother due to cancer. It's so sad and yet so fascinating.

I waited years to read "The Awakening", when I finally read it this past year I was not as enamored with it as I expected to be.

* "Book of the New Sun" by Gene Wolfe
* "Dark Tower II: The Drawing of the Three" by Steven King
Plus a couple of books on writing.

I liked The Awakening because i really identify with the main character (Edna). But other than that I'm not really sure if I really liked that book.

I just finished a few books and I think I'm going to pick up a Ludlum (my first; my dad gave it to me) next. I like reading heavier books, but when I have a ton of work, as I do now, it's a bad idea for me to read anything that requires more than a little of my attention.

I am reading many books.. Mainly studying and gaining as much knowledge as possible but I enjoy reading to relax also.
From .net magazines and creative magazines to find inspiration.. although 9rules is becoming a very good read for inspirational sites too.

The Bible is also a good source of inspiration.

Into the Wild is a great call. Right now I'm pecking away at The Great Deluge, which is pretty damn good. And I always recommend people read Rule of the Bone by Russell Banks.
