I love the series Heroes, and I think the Patrelli brothers are the most interesting charachters. Especially Peter, he has the ability of all abilities. Kind of like Rouge from the X-men.

I like Hiro and Dr. Suresh (YES he has 'powers'... he can heal the virus with his blood so I call that a power).

My least favorite is the Illegals travelling with Sylar mainly because of the catchy little "social commentary" of the needy illegals seeking help. Just a little too PC for my tastes. *especially since the scene where the minutemen style characters come to shoot them for crossing the border doesn't accurately represent the implied organization in real life.*

Noah Bennet. Hands down the most interesting character — and with the best lines. (And he has a power, too: Han can act).

Hiro's right behind him, but more for his entertainment factor. If you ask me, everything that happens between Hiro's and Bennet's scenes is filler material. I assume you've seen the predictions of what's supposed to happen to Bennet later on? Well, if the first show's motto was "Save the cheerleader, save the world", then this season's motto should be "Save her father, save the show".

RightOn is right on as usual; the show could well do without the illegals.

Ha ha! Everyone knows the last Mexican to have any super powers was this guy:

Chapulin Colorado

I have some catching up to do this season but I have to agree the illegals traveling bores me to tears. I fast forward through those parts lol. :)

Peter intrigues me because he has the mecca of powers. I'll probably have a better idea once I catch up this season.

I would kill for Peters powers... but then I guess that would make me Sylar. lol.

I love HRG; like hthth, I find him a fascinating character. Hiro is also a close second for me, for comedic reasons.

Also like you lot, the Mexican pair isn't doing mch for me. Too political in nature, and their power(s) is/are.. well, lame. The black, bleedy eyes rate an 11 on my 1-10 cheese factor scale.

I wish Sylar would be knocked off for good. His low montone oh-so-scary voice is no longer scary, it's just annoying. He's whiny, and he needs to shave that unibrow in half.

Can you tell I'm bored to death of his nonsense?

I love Hiro because he's so sweet. I just want to hug him.

My favorite power is Peter's (of course), but he seems whiney and irritating this season. I also find him very selfish, letting unknown loved ones suffer, thinking that he's dead. Shame on him.

I'm in the minority, but I do like Claire's storyline. I'm curious to see where the West thing goes. Also, I think that Claire and HRG (another favorite) are tied together, so to see what one does is to see what the other does. I like that.

The Hondurans are a little boring, but I'm hoping that their story will grow more interesting, especially when they make it to NY. Maybe Maya causes the destruction that Peter fast-forwarded to?

I love Sylar's powers. Almost being like an chameleon except with powers. And in that same vain, Peter's ever-evolving skillset has been fun to watch.

@Josh
I wish Sylar would be knocked off for good.

Yeah. We're on the same page here. Irritating character.

@Erin
My favorite power is Peter's (of course), but he seems whiney and irritating this season.

This season? He was absolutely driving me barking mad last season for that exact reason. He's still like that, but I think he's a bit more tolerable now actually.

Interesting way to see Claire and HRG (okay, does HRG mean Horn-Rimmed Glasses? When did people come up with the acronym?). I guess I feel the same.

Maybe Maya causes the destruction that Peter fast-forwarded to?

Nah, my money is on a mutation of the virus.

Monica, at the very least, has the most interesting power. A muscle mimic can be quite useful, plus they seem to be building her up as the first publicly known "hero" considering a poster of Saint Joan is in the future Times Square Peter and Forehead Girl jumped to.

Regarding the final paintings from this week, the one of Hiro and Kensei fighting was interesting...mostly because I thought Issac only painted the future..unless that means....

@Josh: I actually think he's more irritating this season, but perhaps that's because I'm fed up with his new storyline and just want him to get back to the action. I hate that he's rediscovering his powers all over again. We already did that!

And yes, HRG means horn-rimmed glasses. Good guess!

Maya and Alejandro arent mexicans, thank you very much.

@Vidar: Actually, I haven't watched the show yet. Not interested 'til the DVDs come out. (That and I don't have cable, reception in my area sucks, and I can't seem to get that whole "scheduling events around a TV show" thing down.) I just presumed they were Mexicans because RightOn said they were illegal aliens. (If it was me saying it, you could be that I was talking about Haitians, which are by far the most common "illegals" in these parts.)

Of course, I'd still be a bit surprised if anyone recognized the guy in the pic. Not much, at least not here, but a bit.

Maya and Alejandro arent mexicans, thank you very much.

Then what are they? They have olive toned skin, speak fluent Spanish and are trying to cross the US/Mexico border to find Suresh.

It's walking like a duck, talking like a duck and looking like a duck... I'm guessing its.... a polar bear?

How about... "South American Residents"?

They're still illegally attempting to cross the US/Mexico border.

As I mentioned, they're meant to play Hondurans. Their accents are not Honduran, however. It doesn't matter where you're from... if you're illegally entering the country, you have to do it at the Mexican/US border.

Hero RULES. He is the best, though I do not like his setting this year. the whole histroy thing bores me... AND I have to read the damn telly to watch the show. Keeps me away from my laptop, LOL.

I love this Heroes. I don't have a favorite character but I love Hiro's two-sided face: the cuddly, cute -how do I control my powers- person and the dark, bittered kick-ass bad-ass.

Peter always intrigues me but his trembling lip is annoying.

Haven't arrived at the illegal "South American" refugees yet. We are a bit behind at the other side of the ocean although I have a friend who keeps me somewhat up-to-date ;)

Just to clarify (for the last time), they're Central American. Honduran.

Thanks Erin.

I like Parkman for some reason. I can't quite put my finger on it. Also Mr. Bennet because he's just full of surprises, you never know what's he gonna pull next.

I still don't see why it matters what country they hail from... even if they were Chilean, their goal (in the show) is to enter the US illegally and politically, I feel it really doesn't belong in the show.

HRG really seems to bug me... and I think it's really just his acting. He doesn't seem intimidating when he's supposed to be.

Regardless of where one stands politically, I don't think that the illegal immigrant storyline doesn't belong. That's a pretty big reality in the States right now, and it's not that implausible to believe that someone would have to enter illegally to seek help. People sneak their way in for all sorts of reasons, and this one seems pretty high up on the necessity list.

That said, I can see why people might object, as it has you rooting for the illegals and showing the border patrol in a bad light.

I love HRG, deception and all. I think he's doing good job portraying the different facets of a father trying to protect his daughter. He may not seem too badass, but then again, he's never really been so. It's more a passive aggression, what with making the Haitian remove memories and such.

I think Maya's hot yo. "Ya'll just be hatin'" on my fellow latino characters.

I like her black emo tears and how she owns everyone if you mess with her.

I bet that scares the shit out of all the prejudice people living in the US.

ZOMG AN MEXICANT WITH SUPER POWERS, IT SCAREZ ME IN RL FAST FOWARD LOLLL TEE HEE.

>.>

I still don't see why it matters what country they hail from...

Central & South Americans loathe being labeled as "Mexican". It's like saying that a Japanese man is Chinese or an Aussie is English just because you can't tell the difference. Vidar (who originally made the "They're not Mexican" comment) is Argentine (if I'm not mistaken), so I presume that he was coming at it from that angle.

I think what you're saying, though, is that it doesn't matter if they are Mexican, Peruvian, or Costa Rican -- they're entering the country illegally and all that matters is that.

I bet that scares the shit out of all the prejudice people living in the US.

Rather mature there... I have piles of Hispanic friends and my first spoken language is Spanish (I learned English which I am fluent in AFTER Spanish as a child).

Being opposed to illegal immigration doesn't mean you're a bigot.

Erin: Correct on both counts.

RightOn: No, it doesnt mean you're a bigot. However your "then what are they?" comment does sound like something a bigot could say.

I bet a lot of U.S. people who jump at my throat if I started calling them canadians.

Sure thing RightOn, people with piles of "Hispanic" friends that know Spanish can still come off as ignorant. :)

Mexican Americans are probably one of the worse, sad but true.

See I don't get the nationalization thing, it wouldn't bother me at all if you called me a Canadian. I'd probably just laugh and kindly correct you.

It is a common mistake to see a Central or South American person in the US and call them "Mexican" so I DO see that point.

@hthth: HRG does indeed stand fro Horn Rimmed Glasses (as Erin already confirmed). I became familiar with the acronym as it was used in TV Guide, the magazine.

@all: I'm enjoying this second season, but I don't think I'm enjoying it as much as the first one. Some of the story lines just aren't doing much for me; some of the powers being introduced are just kind of blah. I wish they'd tighten in on the main storyline, and quit jumping around so much. Some of the episodes have actually left me a bit bewildered, trying to pull all of it together in my head.

It is, in a way, like Battlestar Galactica, Season 3: too much intermediary fluff, not enough advancement of the main plot. Yes, we know, people who find pictures with a red symbol over their face = they're going to die. Next plot piece, please. Season 1 of Heroes suffered a bit from this, and as I recall, a lot of people complained about it; it would appear the makers didn't learn their lesson.

Advance the main plot! Forward!

I absolutely love Masi Oka. Both his character and his person!

Maybe a good actor could steal Sylar's powers and take up his mantle? The character role isn't as bad as the actor and the character itself. Maybe Bennet could somehow steal Sylar's powers? That'd be hot. (and interesting)

I watched the entire first season on DVD in about a week, so the pacing this season is KILLING me. I do like how they switched up the pairs this season (Niki and Mohinder, breaking up Hiro and Ando). It keeps it fresh for the most part.

I do hate what they did to the spouses though. Getting rid of his wife just destroyed Matt Parkman's storyline. And DL just died, no explanation!? Boo, Hiss!!

That's what we need, a deathwatch note! I shall start it.

My favorite would prob. have to be Dr. Suresh too.

Mohinder and Nikki... How many of you got the feeling he shat his pants really bad when Nikki told him she was there to make sure that "there wouldnt be any more trust issues"

As for DL, he got shot, what else do you need? He probably lost too much blood or something like that.

DL's character never did much for me. Even though he appeared quite a bit, the development of the character never went very far. When he died it was basically (for me): "eh, okay. Moving along."

love what HIRO can do. love watching the CHEERLEADER for obvious reasons. hehe.

Resurrecting the thread just to post this:

hiro
My name is Hiro Nakamura. You killed my father. Prepare to die.

My name is Hiro Nakamura. You killed my father. Prepare to die.

This begs the question, will Takezo/Adam use his powers of regeneration to grow an extra finger?

I had a marathon night of Heroes. The series was not on air here yet so I got all episodes from season one and had a non-stop session of Heroes. Once I started I couldn't stop. I was still awake till six the next morning. I didn't expect it to be that gripping. I couldn't wait to continue the next day, I had to see what happened next.

I'm also 4400 fan and expected it to be some cheesy 4400 ripoff. Boy, was I wrong and so glad it didn't disappoint.

Good to hear the second season is on the way. My fav characters in order are Peter, Nate, Alison/Nikki. Hiro annoys me a bit, okay a lot, but I do like the Hiro of the future :)

again resurrecting the thread....

Only 11 episodes? WTF? and it all happened in the last 4 too.

Only 11 episodes? WTF? and it all happened in the last 4 too.

Was this (e11) the final episode of the season?

And for a more general question: Does anyone know a good TV guide site out there you can use to track airdates/etc for miscellaneous shows?

EDIT: Confirmed that this is the season finale; is it because of the strike of the Writer's Guild of America? Apparently the last episode of Desperate Housewives may become the season finale due to that.

@hðð: what strike? also, I check eztv for air dates and such

It's HÞÞ - points for a good shot though :)

By having Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) [Spoiler Censored] before he could expose [Spoiler Censored] to the world, the late [Spoiler censored] and her shady cohorts simultaneously opened Pandora's box and capped off the final episode of Heroes in 2007, and perhaps the 2007-08 television season.

As creator Tim Kring promised E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos on Nov. 20 after marching down Hollywood Boulevard with his fellow Writers Guild of America members, Monday's episode was "very much like a finale"—as it kinda had to be.
Although a winter hiatus was in the cards regardless, the upcoming break from Heroes is of an undetermined length thanks to the writers' strike currently plaguing the TV and film industries.

This is from an E! News article.

Why are they on strike anyway?
