Who cares?

And why do people care if she's out getting drunk every other night with whoever she likes? Does it improve your life?

Let her fuck herself up as much as she likes and if she feels like making some music somewhere along the lines in the not too distant future, somebody might buy it... But for the love of god, stop worrying about it.

Not a chance. She'll just screw it up again anyway.

Wow Avuee, that was a little uncalled for.

I said this is another thread. I don't think she's faultless by any means, but she's my age. I can't even begin to imagine how I'd cope with life if the entire world had been commenting on my weight, my body and my actions since I was 15 years old. I had a hard enough time growing up without all of the scrutiny she's faced.

I think it's as much of a problem with America as it is with Britney Spears. The tabloids love a good story about a fallen vixen and why? Because it sells. America loves delighting in the short-comings of others, especially celebrities. So, if she's seen smoking a cigarette or having a few drinks, it's sensationalized to her being out all night partying, whether that's the case or not. Because that makes them money. And we all keep talking about how bad Britney is.

Do I agree with her choices? Obviously not. But I don't think that I, or anyone else, have the right to pass judgment on her for how she's dealt with her own situation. I'm sure I could look at your life Avuee and point out things that would make you blush or feel ashamed. The difference is you don't have 100 people following you around 24/7 with cameras to document those mistakes.

So, I say don't comment on her personal life until you've walked a mile in her shoes. I'd hope people would give me that courtesy, so I try to offer it to others. That goes for all celebrities, not just Britney.

With all of that said, I do think she can make a comeback? You're talking about a person who, when focused, made herself the biggest female pop star since Madonna before she could legally vote. To rule her out is absurd. I think, for her to do so, she needs to take a few years off. She needs to fade from public site, get some help to get herself together, then come back with a level head and a great PR firm behind her. But I don't doubt that she has longevity if she can sort out her personal issues.

It's a bit sad that we are so focused on celebrities' personal lives now; think of the stars of a few decades ago: did we know what Blondie did or did not eat for luch? Did we know how many women Robert Redford had slept with? I don't think so. But the fact of the matter is that today's stars are followed by paparazzi and that their personal lives impact their professional lives. She's got to get it together before people are even willing to give her a chance at a comeback.

That said, if she went to [real] rehab, ditched the drug and alcohol habit, spent some quality time with her children (not in front of the paps), etc., I think that her future fan base would sympathize with her and, eventually, love her again.

Think of Nicole Ritchie... just a few months ago, she was an ex-drug addict, friend of Paris, rich little snob. Now that she's pregnant and pulling her life together, she's a pap/media darling. Just my opinion.

Not unless she got some talent. We haven't seen any of that from her up to this point so I doub we ever will.

Nah, I'd say her star has definitely seen its highest point. From what I've seen (and that's not much - I don't follow pop culture very much), she's in the news now more as a running joke, not as a real star. Last I saw, she'd missed her kid's birthday to have a big "comeback" concert, where she was damn near naked, tossing about her chubby stomach. Nothing wrong with a chubby stomach, mind - I've got one! - but I also don't dress in skin tight clothing and then dance around on stage. :)

I don't think so. Will she get higher than she is now? Yes... but will she rise to her previous stardom? I don't think she will. Teeny boppers just won't relate to a older, less attractive woman/mom. She can try to target another crowd, but I don't see it being successful.

No, because she screwed her performance at the VMA's. And she screwed Justin Timberlake over too. Maybe if she wasn't such a whore, she could have another chance with him but I hear she blew him off. Everyone is leaving her now. She won't get her kids if she continues to screw up.
