I have been waiting for this movie for 8 months now and it is finally here.

You going to go see it?

Definitely...I've been looking forward to this one for a while. It'll be interesting to see if Will Smith can hold a movie by himself.

I definitely want to go see this. When I first saw the previews, I wasn't too convinced, but it's looking more entertaining now. Even better, is that it's going to be on the Imax, which will definitely be worth the money.

Yeah, looking forward to it. I think Smith could pull it off. He's definitely come a long way as an actor since being the Prince of Bel Air, or a Man in Black for that matter. Quality films he's been taking part in lately and I'm starting to trust his judgement/performance.

While we're on the subject of viruses and zombies, the other day I saw the first 15 minutes of a recently debuted b-movie-of-death called "I am Omega". It was probably rushed out the minute they got weather of Legend being made and it follows the same or similar storyline. But it's so bad it's absolutely indescribable. If you watch a bit of that one right before watching "I Am Legend" — I'm pretty sure it'll guarantee having you think Legend multiple-Oscar worthy.

Btw. the trailer you posted has been removed Scrivs.

I hope the dog doesn't die, that'd be a bummer. In the trailers it looks as if it does so who knows.

And yes I'm definitely looking forward to it. Kind of like 28 Days Later but with a black guy.

I love zombie-style films and I also love Will Smith (yeah, it sounds weird to say).

This should be a great film.

And yes I'm definitely looking forward to it. Kind of like 28 Days Later but with a black guy.

Hopefully without evil British squaddies...

@h - Still plays for me.

It's Will Smith. One of the few people I'd endure the crap that goes on in movie theaters here to see.

@Scrivs
Yeah, does for me now too. Gave me the "User has removed this video.." message earlier. My bad.

And yes I'm definitely looking forward to it. Kind of like 28 Days Later but with a black guy.

rrrrrrrofl. Had not thought of it that way!

I'm definitely looking forward to the movie. The more recent full-length trailers make the movie look pretty interesting.

Will Smith visited this area of Japan early last week. I did not get a chance to see him, but a lot of folks I work with were able to meet him and shake his hand. Seems like he is a fairly down-to-earth kinda guy.

28 Days Later they weren't really heroes or badasses, just normal people who seemed to be able to run really fast. Smith seems like a badass in this movie and you have to expect a nice twist at the end. Just has that feel to it.

Yeah, this is looking good. I hope it doesn't disappoint!

@daxgti: Sci-fi movies with Will Smith rarely disappoint. (*Ignores Wild Wild West*)

Will definitely see it. Will Smith is hands down one of my favorite performers.

I am openly salivating over this one. Especially after reading an interview describing it more as a psychological/character movie than an action flick... I can't remember where I read it, but it was in print. So either Wired or Geek magazines.

Yea, I watched HBO first look and it looks good enough to see.

On a Monday though I'm not dealing with the weekend movie traffic, they have been selling pre-release tickets for opening weekend at most theaters in this state.

Oh I, Robot me. Yes. =D

@Gnorb: Hahahah yes!! We will ignore that one minor flaw in his list of great flicks. :D

Didn't get that feeling from the trailer, but I'm glad to hear that.

Yea, I will catch this movie over the weekend, and I will see it in IMAX 3D theater.

Just to let movie goers know, if you watch I Am Legend in a IMAX theater, then you will be shown a 6-7 minutes IMAX short film of The Dark Knight.

Lucky, privileged bastards.

i'll definitely watch it...

Will Smith's movie are good.. and he can definitely hold a movie by himself.. =)

Just got back from the midnight showing... I'm sorry to say, that was pretty much horrible. However, the people surrounding me cracked me up...guy behind me jumped to the point of kicking my chair quite hard and getting embarrassed, girl next to me kept covering her head with her sweater, and another guy jumped super high while his friends made fun of him.

But yeah, other than that...not too great.

Glad you give it the thumbs down, lowers any expectations I may have had. Was it Independence Day bad? Also, did you see the Dark Knight short?

I actually liked Independence Day... Any sort of tension the movie had was carried mostly through bad jump scenes, and the plot wasn't really developed enough to make it an interesting story--just enough to get zombies or whatever they were in there.

And unfortunately, no, I didn't see The Dark Night short since I didn't go to an IMAX.

Oh, maybe we have very different tastes. Frankly it has me even more intrigued to see it, but I'll have to wait; I think it premieres after Christmas on this side of the world.

Perhaps...I was personally bored throughout most of it, but obviously some of the people around me found it scary. Be interested to hear what others here thought.

Watched it yesterday, on my birthday. Urgh. It had tension going for it, Smith's acting was incredible, the backstory and the scenes with the dog were wonderful ... and the ending tanked.

Huge disappointment, considering what a great movie it could've been.

I saw the Omega Man though not the other film made to the book, and I heard there is as much disappointment at this as their was at Omega Man. At least for those who read the book, and were hoping for more.

I've read the book and now am not sure I'll see the film, or at least I won't rush to see it. They re-shot the ending I hear. Maybe they should have left the original, though I don't know if it was truer to the book or not.

I was told by a couple of friends who did bother to see it late last night not to go and to see Atonement instead.

I may see it anyway.

I might go check it out tonight
