Does anyone else think sequels have gotten a bit out of hand? I expect sequels from things like Scary Movie and so forth, but Basic Instinct 2? Fast & Furious umpteen? I'm looking forward to seeing the second installment of Sin City and the next installment of Batman with Christian Bale and Heath Ledger (as the Joker, which should be interesting) and Gary Oldman who I'd even watch lift a toilet seat 'cause I love him as an actor so much! Thoughts?

Haha, the abundance of film sequels got lame quite a long time ago. Studios love to not overthink things.

Are you serious, Gladiator 2? That's almost as stupid as the Basic Instinct sequel... I heard there's a Rush Hour 3 and a Rocky....what is it now, 10?!!
It's quite pathetic and embarassing the state of the American film industry. I suppose this is one of too many reasons I watch so much foreign films... Not sure I've ever seen a foreign (specifically European) film sequel??? Hmmm, there must be some... Does anyone know of one or two? Well, there's Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels... but Snatch is not really a sequel to Lock, Stock is it?

Yeah the Rocky one is definitely pushing it. He comes out of retirement to fight Antonio Tarver and I'm going to take a wild guess here and say he wins or at least takes the fight to the last round and gains a great deal of respect.
It's hard to blame studios though for creating sequels. Easy money. Saw 3 baby!
