I think Simon is the only idol judge that has any idea what he's doing. Am I in the minority here? I've only disagreed with him once that I can think of.
Randy Is ok about half the time, paula is constantly out of her mind on booze or drugs (or maybe she really is THAT crazy.) Am I the only one that thinks American idol only has one real judge!?

I have no idea who is judging American Idol (being a Brit) but I'm guessing "paula" is none other than Paula Abdul. Don't ask me how I came to that conclusion though, your description didn't ring any bells. [/sarcasm]
Like all television, I'm sure Cowell plays it up an awful lot. After all, it's his brand that he has created. But through all the drama, he is likely to be correct. He just says things that, if sitting in his office, he might be more polite about. Or fire his people for not vetting well enough.

Someone mentioned Paula Abdul last year, I believe, on 9rules, and I had stated that I thought she had a medical disorder.
I read recently that she apparently was diagnosed reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD)in 2004. They think she has had the problem since an accident when she was 17-years old. Many neurological disorders and other disorders are difficult to diagnose, and it often takes years for the true medical issue to be known.
She is an advocate for the multiple sclerosis cause (MS), and has done some charity benefits to help with raising funds for MS. I really feel that many people are too quick to judge a person, and don't consider the alternatives to exhibited behavior.
I even think she might have MS and/or another neurological disorder, in addition to RSD, and is not ready to state as such. But either way, she does have a documented medical condition. Many actors/actresses are fearful of admitting such, as they are afraid they won't be hired or even thought of for acting roles.
There are several actors, Dudley Moore being one, and people thought he was a drunk due to the way he spoke, walked, etc. He had MS, and died of the disease. There is another actor, I can't think of his name, but he was on the sitcom Laverne and Shirley, and he had slurred speech, walked like he was drunk, etc., and he was diagnosed with MS years ago, and is now permanently wheelchair bound. He sees the same neurologist as a friend of mine, who also has MS. My friend is now on permanent disability due to the debilitating effects of her MS, leaving her unable to even care for her personal needs, at times. If one were to see her walk down the street, they would think she was drunk. If they heard her speak, her speech would be slurred.
Annette Funicello, formerly of the Mickey Mouse Club, has MS, Teri Garr, so many others, and they demonstrate the same symptoms, and much worse in some cases.
I give Paula Abdul a lot of credit for standing up and continuing on (even with her medical issues) in the face of all of the verbal garbage she has had to put up with.
Oh, and I so dislike Cowell.

I didn't imply that Paula was a bad person. She's just loopy as all get out and rarely can string together a coherent sentence.
If it's not substance abuse causing it, well, my sympathies to her.

I too think Simon is the only one who has a clue. What REALLY ticks me off is that when he's in the middle of SOLID constructive criticism Randy and Paula talk over him and shut him up.
I also have to say, I never thought I would say this but my Top 2 from the girls last night actually includes Amanda Overmyer. She was GREAT last night.

Simon IS American Idol. If he left, the show would crumble.
And, come on, he's sexy. We all know it.

I like Simon Cowell. He seems to be the only playing an all-seeing role.
