We all have one.....the song that we feel was made for us. Maybe its a new song that explains something you are going thru right now, or a song that you have never gotten sick of. WHatever it is, let us know what song is meant for you, and why it means what it does to you.
much love!

The main song is "Unwell" by Matchbox Twenty - it describes perfectly a five year stretch of my life that is, thankfully, now over.
A second song would be "Love Song for No-one" by John Mayer.
How about you Summer? What's your theme song?

haha, you guys are AWESOMe! my all time favorite song, as cheesy as it is, would have to be Wheel In The Sky by Journey. I feel like it does a great job of describing life....plus i have loved it since i was pretty much in the womb. It has never gotten old for me.
For the time in my life right now, my theme song would have to be
Push- Matchbox 20. I think it does a great job of explaining these past 2 years for me.
Also, i happen to love Beyonce's songs, Listen, and Irreplaceable. I feel like they are both very empowering, and when i listen to them i feel so strong.

Ok, yea I'm totally joking...
This is a hard one, for real. It depends on which moment in my life we're talking about here. I'd have to say Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve...and I'll have to think of more.

Hard to say because it depends at the stage in life at which I find myself. When I was young, Motzart's Eine Kleine Nacht Musik could have been considered my "theme song", as could have the Hungarian Dance #5 by Johannes Brahms, What a Wonderful World by ol' Sachmo, and Mi Viejo San Juan, which I suppose is still somewhat applicable.
Of course, if you consider my marriage, then Aerosmith's I don't want to miss a thing (a Country version of which was done before and I can't for the life of me remember who it was by) and Fly me to the moon by... just about everyone.
While there are other pieces I could mention having been descriptive of me during various stage in life, I would have to say that currently that "honor" goes to Sinatra's Young At Heart, Lee Ann Womac's I Hope You Dance and to a certain extent Blasphemous Rumors by Depeche Mode.

Josh Optimus Prime, that is a great song. I used to take this drive thru Saint Augustine, Florida all the time that was really scenic, and i would listen to that song...and all of a sudden everything would become clear and relaxed. That song is a great depiction of how i feel about life.

I blogged about it because a group of friends thought it would be cool to compile our "life soundtracks" for Christmas gifts to each other.

The songs I like changes with moments. But these are the ones that will never change with time.
"Matchbox Twenty - Unwell" is a song that I (still) share with my ex.
"Bon Jovi - It's My Life" is my main theme song. That describes what I do with my life from end to end.
"Dexter Freebish - Leaving Town" is a song to remind me that even though I'm on a foreign land, I'll always have a home to return to even though I hate it so much.

What a great question Summer. Superfreak made me chuckle. At this particular point in time, though it'd probably change if you asked me tomorrow, which may betray a lack of thought about it, I'd have to say the Welcome Back, Kotter Theme song, or maybe Simon and Garfunkel's 59th St. Bridge Song.

Gnorb: Fly Me to the Moon, is a great song. How about "Can't Take My Eyes off of You", by Frankie Valli?
I don't have one particular song, as it would depend on the stage of my life, or on a given year in my life.
Bridge Over Troubled Water, sung by Simon and Garfunkel, is significant for me.
When my daughter was born in the month of February, the song Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In was playing on the car radio, when I was on my way to the hospital. That song is very significant to me.
There are so many others that are applicable. I love music in general, all forms/genres, and can't choose one specific song.

I would just like to add that I took a poll in my household about what song might be my theme and the unanimous vote was for "I'm Bossy" (Kellis & Too Short).
Bossy, by the way is pronounced "Boss-ay"

Lily is BOSS-AY! She's the first one on the track..
I'm changing mine. I think, if I had to choose one song to sum up my life, I'd pick "No Day But Today" from the musical Rent.
"There's only us
There's only this
Forget regret
Or life is yours to miss
No other road
No other way
No day but today"
It's about focusing on what you can do to make things better for yourself and others, then doing it today.

Fly the great big sky see the great big sea
Kick through continents bustin bountaries
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Around the world the trip begins with a kiss
Roam if you want to roam around the world
Roam if you want to without wings without wheels
Roam if you want to roam around the world
Roam if you want to without anything but the love we feel

I Looked All Over Town by The Magnetic Fields:
I wandered in these big blue shoes,
till we had nothing left to lose.
Nobody wants you when you're a circus clown.
I should know.
I looked all over town.
I guess folks just don't like my face.
They make out like I'm some disgrace.
But nothing's gonna change this painted frown.
And I know.
I looked all over town.
Maybe somewhere I could be free.
Somewhere they won't throw rocks at me.
Somewhere this crazy hair could be my crown.
But all my life,
I've looked all over town.
So whistling this circus tune,
I inflated one more balloon.
And as I floated up I looked straight down.
And I looked all over town.
One last time.
I looked all over town.

My life's theme song is 'Tell Me Where It Hurts' by Garbage. The song strikes a chord in my heart. It speaks of a thing which I should always remind myself of,-the need to be open, selfless and sincere towards the ones I love in life. Happiness can surely be within our grasp with this form of empathy. However, one has to do it with might and main because the world is full of challenges and anomalies.Being conformed to superficial standards as well as self-centred can only maim relationships.
Aesthetically, the song is beautifully melancholic and almost....surreal. The music, which has a hypnotizing ostinato, complements the singer, Shirley Manson's alluring, mysterious and soulful vocal perfectly.
The lyrics and the URL are as follow:

What is my day going to look like
What will tomorrow bring me
If I had x-ray eyes, I could see inside
I wouldn’t have to predict the future
I wish that you would do with some talking
Or else am I to know what you’re thinking
If only people would say what it really was
What it really was
What it really was that they wanted
Chorus:
Tell me where it hurts
to hell with everybody else
All I care about is you and that's the truth
They don't love me, I can tell
But you do, so they can go to hell
Did they ever give you a reason
To believe in something different
If you’re looking for love, for what’s worth
I have plenty of it lying around here somewhere
If you are looking for disappointment
You can find it around any corner
In the middle of the night I hold on to you tight
So both of us can feel protected
Chorus:
Tell me where it hurts,
to hell with everybody else.
All I care about is you and that's the truth
they don't love me, yeah I can tell
but you do, so they can go to hell
I’ve been loved but I didn’t know how to feel it
And I’ve been adored but I don’t know if I ever believed it
I’ve been loved my whole life but I didn’t know how to take it
Until you…..
Chorus:
So tell me where it hurts
to hell with everybody else
All I care about is you and that's the truth
they don't love me, yeah I can tell
But you do, so they can go to hell
But you do, so they can go to hell
Tell me where it hurts x 2
Tell me where it hurts now
Tell me where it hurts (x 3 fade out)
