To me, one of the best parts of summer are awesome outdoor concerts. This summer I'm hitting Dream Theater (Aug. 18, Molson Amphitheater) and Rush (Sep 22, ACC).
I'm excited out of my mind for both, as both bands released awesome CDs, but Rush puzzles me playing in the arena, when last time (R30) they came the the Amphitheater.
And I'm definitely picking up tour tshirts this time around, no cheaping out ;)
Any concerts for you?

Last Sunday, I saw Cut Chemist and DJ Shadow spin on 8 tables with only vinyl 45s at The Hollywood Bowl. It was a really, really phat set!! Great visuals and amusing introductory video, to boot.

ooo that sounds awesome estarla! :D
I've sadly, got nothing on tap at all for this summer. My finances being a major reason for that right now.

I'm going to Ozzfest, though I don't understand why. We swore three years ago we were never going again--after the lead singer of Disturbed was dumb enough to spend the afternoon in 100+ degree heat wearing leather pants, getting heat stroke and unable to perform that night.
This year it's no better. Sure it's free, but seriously the only band I know is Ozzy. And I don't particularly have high hopes for the second stage.
I do want to do Van's Warped Tour, but it's the week I'm supposed to be setting up residence in Chico, so I don't know yet.

I'm looking forward to Vfest and seeing the likes of Mutemath, Explosions in the Sky, Arctic Monkeys and others, but that's not until September and so it's not truly a summer concert.
As for actual summer stuff I'm really considering Warped for Bad Relgion, Bayside, The Fall of Troy and some other favourites, but the lineup and style of bands has really shifted in the last few (several?) years. There really just doesn't seem to be as much "punk" as it was known in the 80s and 90s at Warped anymore, but it's really the whole industry and overall music scene that's going in this direction and not the tour.
I'm also hoping to check out some local stuff through friends in bands and that know bands and maybe some Jazz or other cheap/free smaller events in Toronto.
@Connor - I've been disappointed every time I've seen a band play live at the ACC, but it could just be me. I think pit/ground level tix will make a huge difference though and I hope that's what you have.

Jeff, the tickets I have for the ACC are actually really good. They're stage right, in the platinum seats, row 26 I think. I'd prefer stage left for a Rush concert, but I'm definitely not complaining.

That's too bad. Disturbed are awesome live. I saw them with Korn a few years back and my lasting memory is how clear the vocals were.
So, so many bands drown out the words with the music, David Draiman's words were as clear as they were on the album.
It was amazing. :) I've got a thing about hearing words at shows. Perhaps it's the poet and singer in me. lol
