I listen to Wayne every now and then. I definitely hate that commercial "hip hop" is all about murder/money, which is why I don't listen to the radio anymore.

Good verse though.

I've been listening to Wayne since high school, back when he was flippin' pigeons with the Cash Money crew, one of the original Southern all-stars. I've got a lot of respect for his music because if you listen to the lyrics they come from deep inside his soul: talking about family issues, the real things in life, what matters and what doesn't.

From Hustler Musik (Tha Carter II):

Baby you gotta know that I'm just out here
Doin' what I gotta do for me and u and we eatin'
So b*tch, why da f*ck is you trippin?

I'm takin' these chances
My head to da sky
My feet on da ground

So many rappers nowadays think they have to rap about murder and money, when Hustler Musik is a song about Wayne just trying this best in his world. He's working hard, not stopping, and the hook talks about his girl asking him about why they don't make *more* money or have a *bigger* house when it's just not important.

Moral of the song is if you're doing what you love and it's paying the bills and letting you eat, what else really matters. Great advice for life and business right there.
