I'm currently listening to Euge Groove, Norman Brown (i don't really like his vocal songs though), and some Grover Washington Jr. These are more contemporary than classical..

You can't go wrong with Ella Fitzgerald, that's a fact. I love Jazz and would highly recommend you just go to the store and get a couple of "best of" compilations.

Now listening to the recommended Miles Davis album - and it's pretty much what I was looking for. Brilliant!

I will go through all the suggestions made but I am really loving this album.

It's good to start with big names like Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Dave Brubeck, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, and Thelonius Monk. A great contemporary jazz ensemble is The Bad Plus.

I'm a Miles Davis fan too. Try the Kind of Blue album, it's my favorite jazz record.

Backing what Scrivs said above, the Jazz genre is absolutely huge. Personally I'm into Mile Davies (I play a trumpet as well) and find his earlier stuff simply amazing. However, a lot of it isn't for the faint hearted. Perhaps you could buy a "Best of Jazz" compilation that contains many styles and from there choose what you like.

For chilling, I've been getting into Kinobe and 4hero recently. Not strictly jazz, but chilled out nonetheless.

I can't say I will be much help, but you really need to find what type of jazz you are looking for. Like Rock n' Roll there are multiple styles so saying you like the whole spectrum of jazz is akin to liking Christian Rock and Heavy Metal (which is possible).

For a while I've always wanted to have a bit of Jazz going whilst I'm "chilling" - however I don't know where to start.

Anybody that watches NFL Total Access and have seen the 'Who Wants It More?' segments - that's the sort I want to start listening to.

Sorry I can't give more advice but this is a WHOLE new genre for me

Any help whatsoever would be much much much appreciated
