According to Digital Music News The Pirate Bay, the infamous Bittorrent site, "is now pursuing a criminal complaint against several major recording labels and studios. Sony BMG, Universal Music Group, and EMI Music were among the companies named."
"The charges are infrastructural sabotage, denial of service attacks, hacking and spamming, all of these on a commercial level."
A very unexpected move from TPB, but I'm routing for them. It's about time that the majors get their feet on the ground. The question is: How can the major media companies demand TPB to shut down its service if they themselves commit criminal acts?

I'm not sure this is a new story, but I do think it's interesting.
And though I wouldn't call the move unexpected--no one defends piracy like The Pirate Bay--I do agree that its a good thing to see a countersuit after all the your-grandma's-a-thief suits the record companies/RIAA have pressed (and settled out of court).
