How bad is Britney's Blackout Album Cover?

Music Community — Posted: Oct. 13, 2007  ...   Last By: deus62 @ 1 year ago

So it has been revealed that this will be the official album art for Britney's 5th studio album Blackout.

Here are my gripes about it:

  1. The photo of her on the cover has been already been used to promote her (sadly unfortunate) performance at this year's MTV Video Music Awards and was affixed to the cover of her single "Gimme More." I understand that there may not be many (or any) pictures of her as of late other than paparazzi pictures of her going in and out of Starbucks, but c'mon...that's ridiculous they have to resort to using the same exact photo for absolutely everything.
  2. How extremely unprofessional the design of the actual cover is. The cheap background hurts my eyes, instead of hypnotizing them into thinking this is actually not crappy at all (it's intended purpose I bet). The font used for the title and her name seems really unfitting for a Britney Spears album. It conveys an amateur pop act, instead of a mature, already-established one (although recent events may suggest otherwise).

Her record company is really just setting her up for failure. I mean they moved up the release of the album almost 2 weeks (fans: YAY!) Then they present this monstrosity (fans: BOO!)

It's also really sad that some of the fake fan-created album covers are better than the official one.

What are your thoughts?

Not only is it one of my favorite romantic movies, it's one of my all time favorites: Beauty and the Beast

I saw it last night. I was pumped to see it because of the gorgeous scenery, but I was disappointed with the story after watching it. I know it's meant to be an action blockbuster, but eye candy can't carry a picture alone. There still has to be some substance there. I have to admit it was very entertaining, though.

Btw, the Spartans must have gotten their hands on a copy of John Basedow's Six Pack Abs because everyone on screen was ripped.

One that comes to mind is the Chevrolet commercial for their Presidents Day event. There was a pretty awesome version of Hail to the Chief playing in the background.

I recently caught González Iñárritu's 21 Grams on TV the other night. I loved it! His signature "separate lives coming together" is a cool concept I think takes a real genius to create a well-constructed plot around. Naomi Watts isn't too bad either.

The best from 2006 is definitely Justin Timberlake's video for "My Love".

Dakota Fanning! I'm 15 so it's not that weird, you guys. Okay, it is pretty weird.

I've changed my mind—I LOVE MANHUNTER! (More like points.)

I agree that Manhunter is a great movie with a style that's very distinctive, but I love the storyline and premise of The Silence of the Lambs much better.

I'm sticking to my guns—I STILL LOVE THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS!

Although I do agree with Nils that Manhunter is a great film, and Cox is an awesome Lecter, I really want points. Haha just kidding. I don't think the style is very "different" than the time in which it was made. The film has a very 80's feel to it (pastels and techno music in the background), which isn't that much of stretch for Mann. I mean, Look at Miami Vice.

Win-win situation?

Favorite of the Hannibal Series

Entertainment Community — Posted: Feb. 10, 2007  ...   Last By: Rich @ 1 year ago

With the upcoming release of Hannibal Rising, I want to find out which of the four already released films do you consider your favorite and why? Of course I'm talking about:

  • Manhunter
  • Silence of the Lambs
  • Hannibal
  • Red Dragon

My vote goes to Silence of the Lambs because it was much more suspenseful and disturbing (some reason I consider that a high point) than any of the other films. Not to mention the superb acting by Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins, and Ted Levine.

One scene I love is when Clarice Starling goes to interrogate Dr. Lecter for the first time at the asylum. She is escorted down to his cell by Chilton, who previously hit on Starling when they met). When Starling mentions she would like some privacy with Lecter, Chilton tells her she should have told him before to save him the trip. She replies:

Yes, sir, but then I would have missed the pleasure of your company, sir.

Starling's accent is so crazy. Especially when she's calling Dr. Lecter's name over and over after he hangs up on her at the end of the film.

What about you guys?

Once I "accidentally left" Jessica Simpson's "A Public Affair" on "repeat" with the Audioscrobbler plug-in in the background, and now it's the top track on my last.fm.

Pretty much the classic '90s pop—Britney, *Nsync, Spice Girls, you know, that sort of thing.

I was at San Francisco International, coming home from New York, and I saw John Mayer standing at the baggage claim carousel.

I wasn't completely sure it was him at the time. I just kept staring at him, making up my mind as to whether or not it was actually John Mayer. I mean, other than one guy he was talking to, no one else was approaching him.

When I told my friend, she showed me a link to the Engadget update of Steve Jobs' keynote at Macworld.

11:02am - "It's our pleasure to welcome John Mayer," who will now play the keynote off.

I was devastated! Just kidding. From the pictures I knew it was him at the airport because he was wearing the exact same shirt. Now that I think about it, it's kinda gross.

Oh, I almost forgot! I'm also hooked on the Dreamgirls OST.

I saw it while I was scrolling down: The Evolution of Robin Thicke. His style reminds me a lot of JT. I'm also checking out the new Fall Out Boy.
