» Pixar's Short Circuit  ...  Last Reply: 6 months ago by shadowsun7.

I think the trailer for Wall-E looks great. The similarities are a little spooky.

Thinking about it technically the only real similarity is the eyes, and getting expressive eyes from objects made with metal is a challenge so I guess logically they would be similar.

I don't care though - Short Circuit was great and I reckon Wall-E will be too.

» What to get signed?  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by BinaryMoon.

Would you still recommend getting the album art signed if I said that I never use the CD as I have it ripped to my iPod?

If you never use the cd then getting the cd signed would make no difference would it? Try to get the ipod signed instead... :)

FWIW I'd go for the art too

» How many songs have you purchased from iTunes?  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by Tyme.

2

I like to have the cds so tend to buy them for real then rip them. I am slowly moving to entirely digital though (hence the 2 - they were fairly recent).

» What TV show did you love, but is now off the air?  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by Oli.

Another vote for Firefly here. I thought Drive was quite interesting too... and they cut that one after like 4 shows (is there something about Nathan Fillion?).

I think Buffy ended at the right time (although it was great while it lasted).

Boy meets world. That show was great - and everyone at school used to called my brother Corey. Corey and my brother looked pretty similar :)

» Pixar's New Short Movie "Lifted"  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by hthth.

Neither For the birds or Geri's game were first.

The first was Luxo Jr and it was created by John Lasseter before Pixar made any feature length movies. There were actually 6 shorts made by Pixar before Geri's game. Luxo is the little lamp you see at the start of all Pixar movies.

I saw Lifted at a press screening of Ratatouille last week (Ratatouille isn't out yet in England) - and thoght it was fabulous, as was the film that followed it. I've been a huge fan of Pixar, ever since I saw Toy Story - they're the reason I did a degree in Digital Art :)

» Terry Tate - Office Linebacker  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by JPhill.

I've seen these online before. I actually saw them after Gears of War came out cost the same bloke does Terry Tate as the Cole Train from that game. When you see this you can see loads of similarity and it gives loads of personality to the game.

Hilarious :)

Ha Haaa - that's incredibly funny. As for NSFW - I just showed it to my boss :)

» Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by mattplanet.

I'd quite like to see this one. If I recall correctly the first film didn't too well in reviews but I rather enjoyed it.

My favourites are Braveheart, Gladiator and Stargate, although I also love stage shows.

I'm going to have to listen to some of the ones recommended above, there are a few films there I would be very interested in hearing the scores too.

» Who's your favorite comedian?  ...  Last Reply: 8 months ago by archangelchuck.

Bill Bailey is brilliant - Billy Connolly amuses me as well.

It's interesting seeing who says what here. Being English I haven't heard of any of Elliots suggestions (or the original posters) but I recognise all of Oli's :)

That's very amusing. Would be interesting to know if it is skill, or some camera trickery though :)

» Nintendo Wii  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by ryanarrowsmith.

I Want a Wii quite a lot at the moment, but they are so hard to get hold of in the UK (without spending over £300) that I am going to just have to be patient. I will absolutely be getting one as soon as I can though. I intend to get Excite Truck and Zelda as my first two game purchases.

Thankfully we have one at work to tide me over, but it's just not the same.

Lego Roxxers

They do Lego for the older kids as well. It's called Lego Mindstorms - I'm saving up for it :)

Lego is about the only thing I really remember. I think there was some He Man stuff in there as well, and maybe a couple of transformers, but I was never really into action figures.

I posted about this yesterday, I think it looks great. Really looking forward to it.

BTW you can see posters of the turtles elsewhere

» 50 Films to see before you die  ...  Last Reply: 2 years ago by bluebloggin16.

This isn't the best films ever list. It's a list of films you should see - they're not saying the films are good but that they define genres. I believe (I didn't actually watch the show so could be wrong) that the films were listed in categories, so the Godfather was left out in favour of Scarface.

I've only seen 17 of them but there are a few on there that I'd like to see.

As for additions... I agree that Memento should be there and think Old Boy, and Amelie should be added in also.

BTW Scrivs has already said note editing is on the todo list :)
