Sometimes I don't know how to finish my sentences.
I seem to like this note a lot...
In any case: Marketplace (an NPR show) totally got me with this story.
This may fall under the category of "all Youtube," but Maholo Daily interviewed Steve Jobs.
The Economist is offering some statistical nonsense. I thought it was funny.
Sometimes I wish I was a butterfly.
I agree it's a good and funny show. But I think Studio 60 was killed by its own faults.
I agree that Mad Men is a great show. Especially of the summer shows (when the networks sleep and I lack premium channels like HBO), it was without a doubt the best thing on television. Can't wait for it to come back next year.
That's fun little video. Thanks for sharing it.
I have a new--or actually, rather old--nomination: 2001: A Space Odyssey. I just watched it. It's amazing that something that aims to be epic and important can be so dull and (to my sensibilities, I wasn't alive in 1968) derivative.
Best note all day...
@Jen:
I think we agree then. Networks use ratings to determine if a show should stay on or not, but this often means good shows get canceled.
Back on topic, I just watched an episode of Cavemen (on ABC's website), and it was better than I expected. Not the greatest sitcom ever, but not as bad as the gimmicky idea made me fear it would be. It's pretty involved in psuedo-racial issues--are cavemen like black people?--but it's actually pretty interesting and intelligent.

As with any show, if it gets good ratings, it should stay on.
Really? I'd like to think that if it's a good show it should stay on. Now, I would agree that if it gets good ratings, it's more likely to stay on. But I like it when a good show--like Friday Night Lights--gets to stay on even with subpar ratings.
As to Cavemen, I've never seen it. Most reviews I've seen pan it, and I--like everyone not working for ABC--was doubtful ad characters could make a good sitcom.
Also, to anyone wanting to see it, I THINK, you should be able to stream at least the most recent episode over at ABC.com. I haven't done it but it looks like you can.
I'm not sure this is a new story, but I do think it's interesting.
And though I wouldn't call the move unexpected--no one defends piracy like The Pirate Bay--I do agree that its a good thing to see a countersuit after all the your-grandma's-a-thief suits the record companies/RIAA have pressed (and settled out of court).
I did see Manos, but only on MST3K, so I guess that that would break the rules. I'm surprised anyone ever saw the not MST3K version.
After that, it's harder. I didn't like either Independence Day or Mulholland Drive much, but for very different reasons. I think I was way to old to like Independence Day, which was exciting but completely hollow. And Mulholland Drive, I didn't like because David Lynch works too hard to be confusing.
But really, I think my nominee would probably have to Star Wars Episode I. It's just so bad, and my hopes were so high.
I totally agree with Estarla. You need more fonts. You could also probably benefit from some brighter colors and probably at least one piece of annoying scrolling text (ah, those were days). Also, the scrolling text should be rainbow-colored.
Pity that midi files are going out of style...
Gnorb, it's more like that's what (little) I get FOR watching television. Seriously, it's probably unhealthy that I knew all of that without looking it up. Besides, any of that information is just an IMDB search away whenever a person has a desire to look for it.
That's Neil Patrick Harris, and two of the three things Gnorb said are right. He was Doogie Howser, and in Harold and Kumar, but he wasn't on Malcolm in the Middle.
Francis was played by Chris Masterson, who happens to be the brother of the guy who played Steven Hyde on Thats '70s Show (Danny Masterson). I'm pretty sure they're not related to Harris though.
Well, for me, it depends on who you ask:
Last.fm says its First Day of My Life by Bright Eyes (57 times).
My iTunes says its Une Fille de L'est by Patricia Kaas (37 times).
As you can probably guess, the Last.fm data goes back farther than the iTunes data.
This looks like it could be really good. Jeff Garlin is a consistently funny man, Silverman's good for a laugh, and Amy Sedaris is great too. I really hope this is good.

Oli, that's interesting. I never thought Studio 60 was very funny. It had a little bit of that ever-present mild humor that Aaron Sorkin is known for, but it rarely made me laugh. That may be because, having seen almost everything Aaron Sorkin has ever written, I'd already heard all his jokes. That may also be why the preponderance of speedy dialog struck me more as "classic Sorkin" than anything terribly good or interesting.
30 Rock, on the other hand, is so completely absurd that I can't help laughing at it. The characters are so over the top that the jokes seem to write themselves. I suppose I could see why people would hold that against the show, but I certainly don't.
