After her first album, her management company suggested she get help for her drug problem. She said no, no, no, recorded the second album, and look at her now!
At this point, she's singing to her own soundtrack. Talk about a broken record, though.

@coreyjames: Hey, your dad was the police clerk when Charlie turned in the McPoyle twins!
If you couldn't tell now, I'm a huge fan of the show, and have all of seasons 1 and 2 on my Zen Vision:M to watch at my leisure.
Get it, Granny!

@Oli: Oh, that is priceless!

Just saw Grindhouse tonight. In a theatre by myself (thank goodness for 5pm matinees during rush hour traffic). Ohhhhh...man. I want this on DVD like yesterday.
Love it, love it, love it. Can't wait for Volta to come out; I've been playing this on and off all day today.
Spiderman 3 and Grindhouse. Watched 300 on Friday and was bored to tears.
MF Doom/King Geedorah/Viktor Vaughn is definitely what you need to round out what you've already listed (he's the one rapping on Crosshairs, Space Ho's and Sofa King).
Strictly beatwise, you'll like Madlib and J-Dilla. There's a hot Jaylib album (Madlib + J-Dilla) that you might be interested in.
Peanut Butter Wolf, Quasimoto and Percee P might be right up your alley as well.
Stones Throw Records has CDs of all these artists, and you can download some of them from eMusic DRM-free. Both Chrome Children albums (compilations of Stones Throw artists including some of the ones listed before) are free to download from Adult Swim Music.
Happy listening!
I was more active in the music in high school and college. In high school, I was mainly a trombonist, but I also play trumpet and tuba. In college, I was in the AUC orchestra as a trombonist, but I also played the 'bone in local clubs and house bands. Nowadays though? Collecting dust.
Well I did glare at my trombone and my Arban's last week while cleaning up. Does that count? :)
Actually, I've been digging the Virtual Console games. I know that's kinda "anti-Wii", but I've played and beat LOZ:TP and WarioWare has lost its smooth moves with me. But Bomberman '93? Oh man...that gets continual replay from the kid.
The two episodes this week were my first time watching it this season, and I was extremely underwhelmed.
The Guys: They all pretty much sucked except for Blake Lewis. I mean, dude has pretty good taste in music. But from his profile, he could stand to use some spell check software or something.
Sanjaya Malakar? Uhh...no.
Chris Sligh? Dead ringer for Jack Osbourne. Before the weight loss.
Jared Cotter? Reminds me of Commander Amarao from FLCL. Dead ringer.
I don't honestly remember any of the other men.
The Girls: Some of these chicks are mad arrogant. I mean damn...yeah, you get a little airplay then go out and half-sing a ballad and expect to get roses at your feet? Please.
Nicole Tranquillo: She needed to be taken to the woodshed for that rendition of "Stay". Bonus points if Chaka and Rufus were out there waiting on her. Good thing she got voted off.
Gina Glocksen: Nikki McKibbin Part 2. Hoe, sit down.
Melinda Doolitte: Love her, but I swear they must've dressed her to not have a neck or something. All I saw were head and shoulders. She turned that song out though.
Lakisha Jones: Boo, let me explain something to you (and to everyone, actually). Yes, Dreamgirls' "And I'm Tellin' You" is a pretty iconic song. But just because a Black chick sings doesn't mean it garners a standing ovation. LaKisha sung it like she was holding back and I was praying Simon would say something.
Oh hell...I guess this means I'll be tuning in next week.

I've been using Muxtape now for a week or so; this is the second muxtape I've done thus far.
I haven't been able to listen to it in Firefox or IE, but have no problem listening to it in Safari. Weird!
