On the plane on the way to L.A., last Thursday night, I saw country singer Winona Judd sitting in first class.

That is it for recent sightings.

» I love Simon Cowell  ...  Last Reply: 8 months ago by loism.

Someone mentioned Paula Abdul last year, I believe, on 9rules, and I had stated that I thought she had a medical disorder.

I read recently that she apparently was diagnosed reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD)in 2004. They think she has had the problem since an accident when she was 17-years old. Many neurological disorders and other disorders are difficult to diagnose, and it often takes years for the true medical issue to be known.

She is an advocate for the multiple sclerosis cause (MS), and has done some charity benefits to help with raising funds for MS. I really feel that many people are too quick to judge a person, and don't consider the alternatives to exhibited behavior.

I even think she might have MS and/or another neurological disorder, in addition to RSD, and is not ready to state as such. But either way, she does have a documented medical condition. Many actors/actresses are fearful of admitting such, as they are afraid they won't be hired or even thought of for acting roles.

There are several actors, Dudley Moore being one, and people thought he was a drunk due to the way he spoke, walked, etc. He had MS, and died of the disease. There is another actor, I can't think of his name, but he was on the sitcom Laverne and Shirley, and he had slurred speech, walked like he was drunk, etc., and he was diagnosed with MS years ago, and is now permanently wheelchair bound. He sees the same neurologist as a friend of mine, who also has MS. My friend is now on permanent disability due to the debilitating effects of her MS, leaving her unable to even care for her personal needs, at times. If one were to see her walk down the street, they would think she was drunk. If they heard her speak, her speech would be slurred.

Annette Funicello, formerly of the Mickey Mouse Club, has MS, Teri Garr, so many others, and they demonstrate the same symptoms, and much worse in some cases.

I give Paula Abdul a lot of credit for standing up and continuing on (even with her medical issues) in the face of all of the verbal garbage she has had to put up with.

Oh, and I so dislike Cowell.

The book actually came out in May of 2007. You must be talking about the release of the paperback.

It's nice that it's free, but I prefer reading offline, and not reading a book online.

I haven't seen it, and have no interest in it.

The Geico ads don't do anything for me, either.

I'm not a fan of George Clooney, and never have been, so I won't be going to see "Michael Clayton." There really isn't much that looks that great, in my opinion.

I liked James the gravedigger. He did admit that he needed to work on his social skills. We'll see how he does.

» What are you reading?  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by Griffin.

I just finished reading Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer, a non-fiction book based on Chris McCandless's trek to Alaska from Georgia.

I have also read within the past couple of weeks: The Book of Daniel...by E.L. Doctorow, Sala's Gift...by Ann Kirschner, A Woman in Jerusalem...by A.B. Yehoshua and Requiem for a Lost Empire and Music of a Life...both by Andrei Makine.

I have just started Doctor Zhivago, by Boris Pasternak.

No, I have never watched it, but might give it a try, especially with Danny DeVito being in it.

fuscom: Penn directed the film, but doesn't have an acting role in it.

Into the Wild, directed by Sean Penn is one I want to see, asap, as I understand( according to the author of the book with the same name) that the film sticks to the journals, writings, etc. and to the content regarding the journey to Alaska that was in the book in basically every aspect.

If you can get them both signed (sometimes you can, sometimes not), then go for it. If not, I still stick with the album art, yes.

She actually laughed at herself, this morning, on The Today show, when she was interviewed by Matt Lauer and Ann Curry.

Matt Lauer, himself, admitted to making mistakes on the air, that caused people to laugh at him, and mock him.

I agree with you in every aspect, jensized.

Yes, Elvis expressed interest in Priscilla, but she was an adult when they married. And, before that, her parents agreed to her moving to the U.S. and living in a home that was located in the back of Graceland.

His music has survived through the decades, and his influence still carries on, today, and I expect it will for years to come.
